This was kind of the theme for this project, we wanted to create a place for the kids to play and imagine, especially during the winter when it's too cold to go outside. This would also be a great layout for a preschool.
The front of the playhouse
The Climbing Wall/Tree. We wanted to incorporate a climbing wall somehow, but it had to fit with the theme. After several ideas, Matt came up with the idea of a tree, and of course it had to include monkey bars across the ceiling. The inside of the lower floor on the playhouseMore of the inside main floor - you can't read it in the picture, but all of the colored circles are labeled with the name of the color - the goal was subliminal exposure to readingThe second floor of the playhouseThe 'book nook' on the upper floor of the playhouse. I painted frames on the walls and let the kids paint inside of them - they thought it was great, and it created a permanant memory
The Stage (with working stage curtains, dress-up 'closet,' full-length mirror, and spotlight - practically tap-dance ready!) and the grocery store (you can't see it, but there is a checkout stand with a little stool and of course shelves for the food inside)Hope you enjoyed the playroom tour!
Project general contracted and framed by Beehive State Builders, LLC.

Found your blog through Tutus and Turtles. Holy cow... what an amazing playroom!!! I run a daycare in my home and would kill to be able to incorporate something like this into our home. WOW! Awesome.
I also found you through tutu and turtles, and I have to say this is AMAZING!!
I came across this from Tutus and Turtles--and immediately recognized my mother's artwork! This turned out so beautiful. Small world, eh? What a fun imagination space.
